NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER
25 November 2006
Hola Tangueros,
It's been a while since the last TBC newsletter so I thought I
should update it now.
I was very busy
during the last 2 month preparing for my art exhibition in
Singapore
together with
Tangoxposed and also our workshops and show in Jakarta.
Before we left
to Jakarta it happedend to be Iris's and Pablo's 10 year
wedding celebration. A nice restaurant close to Brawa beach
was the venue and after Dinner our Milongueros started to
dance..... but with respect to the other guests we kept the
Milonga which was quite unique limited in time....Thank you
Iris and Pablo and good luck....
The stint in Jakarta was well received by the dancing world
of Jakarta, considering that IODI Jakarta ( the dance
association ) could manage to get 23 eager work shoppers
together to learn Argentine Tango. IODI Jakarta organized a
final Milonga with the guest of honor being the Charge
d'affairs from the Argentine Embassy, Mr. Diego Alonso
Garces. Ogie and I did an exhibition of our dancing which
is very well known by our Bali friends.
TANGOEXPOSED in Singapore was a huge success. It was a
vibrant weekend with Tangueros coming in from different
parts of the world. Festive Milongas spiced up with the
Argentinean Tango singer Ines Garcia presenting a couple of
songs live with her golden voice.
My art exhibition
was on the opening evening, very well attended with free
flow wine. My paintings were nicely displayed and made the
perfect decoration for this event.
A charity auction
of a pair of shoes with the signatures of our tango masters
benefited the IKAMVA youth organization in South Africa.
The highlight of course was the show and workshops by the
maestros Roberto Herrera and Tamara Bisqueglia.
TANGOEXPOSED was indeed a festival exposing the many facets of
Argentine Tango
Now I'm back
again to brush up my Bali Tangureos...
Practika next week will be at THE SUNSET . I expect you all to
come on Tuesday 28 and Thursday 30 at 8 pm at the Sunset. This
arrangement is only for one week because of Galungan and Made's
Warung being closed.
Come to brush up your Tango for our next Milonga to be held on
December 15 together with the Grand opening of THE SUNSET which
will be a mix of Latin dances from Salsa , Cha Cha, Bachata and
Tango .
No cover charge.
Ogie will be back in town for 2 weeks , his schedule is online.
For his private
lessons at the Sunset (which will be on Tuesdays and
Thursdays) there will be an additional charge from the Sunset
for studio usage which is Rp 20.000 and includes a big bottle
of water.
Also we have a couple of good guest dancers in town. There is
Daniel from Geneva, Jean-Marc and Partner from
Lausanne, Gisalla from Italy and Acho and Claudio from
Argentina. I hope they can stay until our Milonga to spice it
up.
I hope my newsletter
will inspire some Tangueros from Jakarta to come over for the
weekend to join the Milonga on the 15.
Have a nice day ..... See you soon,
Stefani
