The Dubai spectacle was another showcase of unity brought about by people sharing a common passion which is that of tango. Ogie and I were very lucky to have been invited to join Tango Dubai’s presentation of TANGO EVOLUTION featuring Adrian Veredice and Alejandra Hobert. The couple conducted workshop during the week-end and gave a performance on Saturday evening, May 19 at the prestigious Al Rootana Hotel where Ogie and I performed with Adrian and Alejandra together with local teachers, Cesar & Elizabeth and Richard & Sarah. (see gallery)

It was a wonderful evening of all things tango as everyone came dressed and ready to dance. The performances that were given by other groups namely Tango Dubai and the BNF Dance company were all superb making the event worth remembering.

We would like to congratulate the people behind its presentation our good friends Paul Bradley and Eleanor Brodie and their team who were seen all over the place making sure that everything was properly attended.

The extravaganza did not finish as Tango Dubai was invited by the Argentine ambassador Rubin Caro to Abu Dhabi to grace the National Day celebration of the embassy. A special stretched limousine was arranged by Paul to ferry all participants numbering to fifteen as we traversed the distance between Dubai and Abu Dhabi in between sips of red wine and champagne. Call it class, Dubai’s got it!

Tango performances were given by the main stars Adrian & Alejandra ditto with Cesar & Elizabeth, Richard & Sarah, Ogie and yours truly.

Tango is indeed happening in the emirates. It is happening in Asia and the rest of the world.

It is a nice way to keep everyone united as we build a better and vibrant tango community through the years.

Tango is for everybody!!!
