MILONGA at Made's and Show
TANGO ENIGMATICO Performance/Milonga
Tango Bali Club notched another
important milestone when it staged its' recent outing
TANGO ENIGMATICO at Made's Warung
last July 29, 2006 with a special TV coverage
to be aired over TVRI at a later
date. Serious with it's intent to promote Argentine tango ,
the club is going on television
this time to drumbeat interest everywhere in the island
The show started at 8:30 pm with the
full membership of TANGO BALI CLUB .
Made's Warung was filled to the rafters with patrons and guests who came to
watch the presentation.
The show was a showcase of tango's
many facets from traditional, to nuevo, fantasia
and something experiemental that saw
Stefani and Ogie doing the opening number to
the tune of MALENA. It segued to an
experimental presentation of the tango this time
with the club's junior tangueros
Matt, Nuja and Mei lin. They did a tango trio specially
choreographed by comebacking tango
lady Aylin .
A break ensued giving our tangueros a
chance to dispaly their tango passion. In between
breaks, Ni Made Masih was seen
hovering around checking if everything from service,
food, sound and lighting equipments
were okey. Gianfranco Boca was seen occupying
one table with his Italian
contingent. The Jengala people headed by Nancy and Ade were
seen having a ball of a time as they
occupied two tables. Ditto with German/Swiss tangueras
Christine, Iris, Antje, Sabine and
Franziska savoring the culinary delight of Made's as they
watch and dance during the evening.
The second part was a traditional-nuevo
presentation to the music of Pugliese's Primavera
Portena and Sentimiento. Ogie and
Stefani once again delighted the audience with their
masterful presentation of these two
tango classics.
Ms. Maria Lukito who came with some
other friends was the special guest that evening.
She liked what she saw and is now
planning to have a tango club in Jakarta as well. The energy
that night was fantastic as tangueros
pour out into the dancefloor each time they hear tango
being played. I saw our Ubud crowd
headed Ananda with Greek husband sculptor, Philipous
in the company of other friends.
Visiting tangueros from other parts of the words were there
to join in the fun. Barbara from San
Diego came with Hungerian Tanguero who also lives in
San Diego delighted both the ladies
and gentlemaen with their dancing ability. Brenda from
from Sta. Monica who just got back
several days ago, was seen exchanging pleasantries
with Khaled, a German/French/Morrocan
tanguero .
The last part saw the return of Ms.
Aylin Kanginnadhi to the world of tango as she and
Ogie reprised their choreography of
this alternative tango piece by Harriet to the
thunderous applause of the audience.
Need we say more Aylin? Welcome back. And lastly
Stefani and Ogie did a finale with a
new choreography to the music of TANGUERA. They
ended the number with the audience
asking for an encore, an indication that they enjoyed
the duo's performance. They obliged
by dancing to a repeat of Sentimiento which the audience
loved too.
We partied on till 2:oo am as
everyone was feeling euphoric about the success of the
presentation . Drink Dine and Dance
was the order of the evening. Tango,Salsa, Merengue
Chacha and more tango were played to
the delight of everyone. Tango has finally arrived
TANGO BALI CLUB is hear to
